Alfa Romeo Spyder

Having already had this car in previously for poly-bushes to be fitted to the front antiroll bar I am a big fan of this cars characteristics and how they are used on a daily basis by the driver. One of the jobs we have been asked to do is to poly-bush the rear end completely, we decided that removing the whole aluminium subframe that the rear suspension is anchored to was the best way to go as it would also allow us to address the small sections of mostly surface rust that is beginning to appear near edges and drain holes at the rear end.

Once the rear end was removed the next process was to clean off the rust from all the arms and subframe……….a messy process!

Finally the cleaned off articles got some tough chassis gloss black paint to keep them from rusting up again!

The next job on the list is to create a chassis brace to stiffen up the ride as being a convertible it has less structural rigidity than the coupe. Having researched several models already on the market I have decided that we will create our own design that is neither redundant or ineffectual!
